Jihadis Summer Camp.

saudi_centre

Here is the pull quote from the story.

a one-time truck bomber who is now a declared “enemy of al-Qaeda” explaining “I believe God save me to deliver this message…”

Aren't most "one-time truck bombers" really one time? I mean your usually way to dead to go through this kind of program right? More than likely got caught before he blew himself up and got the "go to summer camp or die speech."

Here is the story.

This is a picture from the Saudi Government’s latest attempt to combat Al-Qaeda. It is a “care centre” run by the ministry of the interior for former Al-Qaeda members, or, as they prefer to describe the prisoners, “beneficiaries.”  In return for a relaxed regime of ping-pong, video games, swimming and art therapy, they must attend daily “religious re-education classes” where their religious views are challenged by Islamic scholars. According to a BBC report, the scheme is masterminded by a special Government approved unit: “You cannot defeat an ideology by force. You have to fight ideas with ideas,” says its director. And  apparently, it works. No one from the centre has re-offended since it was opened according to the report, which quotes a former inmate, a one-time truck bomber who is now a declared “enemy of al-Qaeda” explaining “I believe God save me to deliver this message…”

Toddlers who dislike spicy food 'racist'

Loonacy.

www.telegraph.co.uk
Toddlers who turn their noses up at spicy food from overseas could be branded racists by a Government-sponsored agency.

The National Children's Bureau, which receives £12 million a year, mainly from Government funded organisations, has issued guidance to play leaders and nursery teachers advising them to be alert for racist incidents among youngsters in their care.

This could include a child of as young as three who says "yuk" in response to being served unfamiliar foreign food.

The guidance by the NCB is designed to draw attention to potentially-racist attitudes in youngsters from a young age.

It alerts playgroup leaders that even babies can not be ignored in the drive to root out prejudice as they can "recognise different people in their lives".

The 366-page guide for staff in charge of pre-school children, called Young Children and Racial Justice, warns: "Racist incidents among children in early years settings tend to be around name-calling, casual thoughtless comments and peer group relationships."

It advises nursery teachers to be on the alert for childish abuse such as: "blackie", "Pakis", "those people" or "they smell".

The guide goes on to warn that children might also "react negatively to a culinary tradition other than their own by saying 'yuk'".

Staff are told: "No racist incident should be ignored. When there is a clear racist incident, it is necessary to be specific in condemning the action."

Warning that failing to pick children up on their racist attitudes could instil prejudice, the NCB adds that if children "reveal negative attitudes, the lack of censure may indicate to the child that there is nothing unacceptable about such attitudes".

Nurseries are encouraged to report as many incidents as possible to their local council. The guide added: "Some people think that if a large number of racist incidents are reported, this will reflect badly on the institution. In fact, the opposite is the case."

British woman faces jail for sex on Dubai beach

Bummer. Here is the pull quote. Note the choice of words to describe what happened.

When the pair were allegedly found having sex by a policeman, he is said to have let them off with a caution. However, later, after the couple were discovered in the same position, they were arrested, and Miss Palmer is said to have become aggressive.

What position we talking about here?

Heres is the story.

A British businesswoman is facing six years in a foreign jail after she was allegedly caught having drunken sex on a beach in Dubai.

Michelle Palmer, manager of a publishing firm, was arrested after a police officer reportedly found her and a British holidaymaker in a compromising position on Jumeirah Beach in the Arab state.

The 30-year-old is thought to have been charged with having sex outside marriage - considered an offence in Dubai - as well as indecent behaviour in public, being drunk in public, and assaulting a police officer.

Miss Palmer told the Sun that she fears she will be 'made an example of' under the strict laws of a country where even mild public displays of affection are frowned upon.

She faces and her fellow accused face a sentence of between three months and six years in jail in the state, one of seven that makes up the United Arab Emirates.

She told the newspaper: "Because this is known everywhere they're going to make an example of us and we're going to get a higher sentence.

"We are in so much trouble and my family and everybody are affected. Until someone is in this situation they could never know what it's like. It's bad - it's so, so bad.

"They are being pushed into a corner to make an example of us. I'm panicking - my mum is on anti-depressants. I can't say anything else. I've got to go."

Miss Palmer, is said to been drinking champagne during a brunch with colleagues last Friday before agreeing to go for a walk on the beach with a friend of a colleague.

When the pair were allegedly found having sex by a policeman, he is said to have let them off with a caution. However, later, after the couple were discovered in the same position, they were arrested, and Miss Palmer is said to have become aggressive.

The exclusive residential area, which boasts a number of luxury hotels, is popular with Western expatriates. Although alcohol is available to non-Muslims in hotel bars, it is an offence to drink or be drunk in public.

A Foreign Office spokesman said: "Two British nationals were arrested in Dubai. The case is currently under investigation."

Another Reason I Am Glad Not To Be Like Europe.

This from the bad idea of the Century file. People who try this stuff should have their right to vote taken away. Obviously they are to stupid to vote.

TURKEY ELECTIONS

Germany Ponders Giving Children the Right to Vote

Every German citizen should have the right to vote in national elections, even those under the age of 18, says a group of parliamentarians. They've proposed a law that would allow parents to vote for their children.

Preschoolers have as much right to make their political opinions heard as adults, according to a bipartisan group of 46 German parliamentarians.

The politicians are outraged that approximately 14 million German citizens are shut out of the democratic process because of their tender ages, the DPA news agency reported. That means nearly one in every five German citizens is too young to cast a ballot.

Currently, Germany follows the lead of most other democratic countries in limiting voting to adults 18 years of age and older. Some German states allow voting starting at age 16 for local elections.

The idea has gotten backing from some members of the conservative Christian Democratic Union (CDU), center-left Social Democratic Party (SPD) and the free-market liberal Free Democratic Party (FDP). The proposal also has the support of political heavyweights such as the former minister for family affairs Renate Schmidt, Bundestag vice-president Wolfgang Thierse and FDP head Dirk Niebel.

Constitutional change required

The supporters want to change Article 38 of Germany's constitution by striking out the sentence that defines voting eligibility as starting at the age of 18.

Under the proposal, parents would be allowed to vote for the children. Parents could then add their children to a voting list when they believe the child is ready to take on his or her own democratic responsibility.

A similar proposal was defeated in 2005 on constitutional and practical grounds. Opponents objected that parents would vote their own wishes and not those of their children. A two-thirds majority would be needed to change the German constitution.

How To Make A Car Bomb.

Terrorism: Car bombing manual surfaces on al-Qaeda websites

Dubai, 9 July (AKI) - A manual teaching would-be 'holy warriors' how to carry out a remote-controlled car bomb attack has appeared on al-Qaeda linked websites.

The 13-page manual's apparent author, Abu Abdullah al-Qureishi, says: "This work of mine is a gift that I am offering to the Islamic nation, especially to Sheikh Bin Laden."

For the sake of clarity, al-Qureishi says he has divided the 'manual' into two parts - electronic and technical aspects.

The manual contains several diagrams and teaches users how to used a remote-controlled device to send a signal to a receiver planted inside the car to be blown up.

"You should use electrical circuits such as those used in aircraft if you find yourself in an enemy country and want to carry out a car bombing.

"But if you find yourself in a Muslim country then you must build the circuits yourself, as well as the device that will receive the signal.

Al-Qureishi invites would-be terrorists or jihadists (holy warriors) to use remote-controlled systems that are usually used to pilot drone aircraft.

The manual's mechanical section shows a series of pistons. When linked to electrical circuits these press on the accelerator or the brake, depending on the remote-controlled signals they receive, the manual explains.

Diagrams also show how to tamper with a car's steering column and the ignition.

The manual does not state why car bombings should be carried out remotely. The reason may lie in the scarcity of volunteer suicide bombers underlined in al-Qaeda recruitment videos and the unpopularity of these attacks.

Something To Ponder. How Do You Give A Coma Victim Permission To Die?

www.radionetherlands.nl
Italian coma victim given permission to die
Published: Wednesday 09 July 2008 15:27 UTC

Last updated: Wednesday 09 July 2008 15:27 UTC An Italian woman who has been lying in a coma for 16 years has been given permission to die by a court in Milan. The court said there is no sign of any improvement in her situation and has given her father permission to stop her forced feeding. She has been in the coma since 1992, following a car crash when she was 19.

Euthanasia is forbidden in Italy and only permitted in very special circumstances. Two years ago, the country was thrown into uproar by a court case involving the seriously ill Piergiorgio Welby. Paralysed by muscular dystrophy, he campaigned for the right to die. His requests were refused by the courts, but a doctor eventually agreed to unplug his respirator and he died in 2006. The Roman Catholic church refused him a religious burial.

Ok, I get it her father wanted her dead. Nice Dad.

Iran Fires Missiles, Obama Wants More Diplomates

Iran just test fired 9, count them, 9 test missiles. Obama wants Diplomats to fix it, McCain wants missile defense. Who do you trust to protect you. The article mentions Obama wants tougher action taken towards Iran, but that is poll driven flip flop on his part. Don't believe me, here you go you Obama tools.

Here is the article from the Guardian.

Iran_missile_range2

Iran sends missile test warning

The US Democratic presidential candidate, Barack Obama, called for tighter sanctions on Iran today after it fired nine test missiles that were capable of hitting American and Israeli bases.

"Iran is a great threat. We have to make sure we are working with our allies to apply tightened pressure on Iran," the Illinois senator said.

Iran demonstrated its military force with the test-flight of nine long and medium-range missiles in the strategic Strait of Hormouz, through which 40% of the world's oil passes.

Tehran said the exercise was in retaliation to threats from the US and Israel over its disputed nuclear projects, which it claims are civilian.

Obama said if he were to be elected president, he would combine more direct diplomacy with the threat of much tougher economic sanctions.

"I think what this underscores is the need for us to create a kind of policy that is putting the burden on Iran to change behaviour, and frankly we just have not been able to do that over the last several years," Obama said.

He cited reports that US exports to Iran have increased under George Bush, even as the administration has toughened its rhetoric.

Earlier, the US secretary of state, Condoleezza Rice, said the "war games" justified America's defence plans with bases in eastern Europe. She said the tests were "evidence that the missile threat is not an imaginary one."

"Those who say there is no Iranian missile threat against which we should build a missile defence system perhaps ought to talk to the Iranians about their claims."

Her comments were backed by the Republican presidential candidate, John McCain. He said the tests "demonstrate the need for effective missile defence now and in the future, and this includes missile defence in Europe as is planned with the Czech Republic and Poland". These plans are strongly opposed by Russia.

But the Kremlin, which has resisted US calls for tougher UN sanctions on Iran, said it shared concerns about Tehran's nuclear programme.

Speaking from Japan, where Bush attended the G8 summit, the White House spokesman Gordon Johndroe said the Iranians should "refrain from further missile tests if they truly seek to gain the trust of the world".

"The Iranian regime only furthers the isolation of the Iranian people from the international community when it engages in this sort of activity," he said.

Washington said Iran's development of ballistic missiles violated UN security council resolutions. But it added that the US was committed to pursuing a diplomatic solution to the impasse over Iran's nuclear ambitions.

The practice shots by Iran's elite revolutionary guards were another in a series of conflicting messages coming out of the country over its nuclear programme and relations with the US and Israel.

General Hossein Salami, the guards' navy commander, told state television today that the test missiles exercise, called "The Great Prophet 3", would "demonstrate our resolve and might against enemies who in recent weeks have threatened Iran with harsh language".

An Iranian news agency quoted Salami as saying: "Our hands are always on the trigger and our missiles are ready for launch."

But less than a day ago, the Iranian president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, dismissed fears that Israel and the United States could be preparing to attack his country, calling the possibility a "funny joke".

At a press conference during a visit to Malaysia yesterday, Ahmadinejad said: "I assure you that there won't be any war in the future."

The G8 expressed "serious concern" over the risks posed by Iran's nuclear programme and urged Tehran to suspend all uranium enrichment-related activities.

"We call on Iran to respond to the updated incentives package in a constructive manner," a G8 statement said today. "We also urge Iran to act in a more responsible and constructive manner in the region, particularly in the context of the Middle East peace process and the stability of Iraq and Afghanistan."

Television reports said the missiles fired included a new version of the Shahab-3 missile, which officials have said has a range of 1,250 miles and is equipped with a conventional warhead weighing a tonne.

Such a missile could reach Israel, Turkey, Afghanistan or Pakistan.

Israel's military has also flexed its muscles in recent months as tensions with Iran have risen, sending warplanes over the eastern Mediterranean in June.

US officials described that incident as a possible rehearsal for a strike on Iran's nuclear programme, which the west fears is aimed at producing atomic weapons.

Israeli government spokesman Mark Regev today said Israel "does not desire hostility and conflict with Iran".

"But it is clear that the Iranian nuclear programme and the Iranian ballistic missile programme is a matter of grave concern," he said.

Iran says its nuclear programme is geared only towards generating electricity, not producing weapons.

Last month, six major world powers offered a package of economic incentives to Iran if it halted nuclear activities. Tehran's response to that offer has not been made public.

For months, Ahmadinejad and other Iranian officials have played down the possibility of a US attack because they think difficulties in Iraq and domestic worries will deter America from engaging in another war.

At the same time, Tehran has stepped up its warnings of retaliation if the Americans - or Israelis - do attack, including threats to hit Israel and US Gulf bases with missiles and stop oil traffic through the vital Gulf region.

Europe
Spanish bishop reacts to law granting rights to chimps and apes

Madrid, Jul 7, 2008 / 07:31 pm (CNA).- Bishop Jose Ignacio Munilla Aguirre of Palencia warned this week that Spain “is being used as a guinea pig for post-Marxist ideology that is characterized by its rebellion against the cultural roots of Europe, against Christian anthropology, against reason and against nature itself.”

In an article on the “Great Apes Project,” an initiative by Socialist and Green Party lawmakers granting rights to orangutans, chimpanzees and apes that the unborn are denied, the bishop warned that “Spain has become the first nation in the world to recognize three fundamental rights of man for apes: the right to life, the right to freedom and the right not to be tortured physically or psychologically.”

He denounced its supporters for attempting to blur the lines between species, “which presupposes a radical denial of the concept of the person.  This is possible because previously the concept of gender (each one can choose his own sex!) was put into question,” the bishop said.

“There’s little doubt that the next step will be euthanasia, eugenics and ethnic cleansing.  That is the logic of materialism! With a bit of irony a friend of mine told me: ‘my hope is to escape euthanasia, to be given asylum with the apes,” the bishop said.

After commenting about the preeminence of the human being and the radical originality of person, Bishop Munilla said, “this fact should make clear to us the spirituality of the human being, who is substantially different from the animal kingdom.”  “This latest battle of post-Marxist secularism and of gender ideology seeks, in the name of freedom, to deny the transcendent dignity of the human person in order to justify using him as genetic material.”

“However, freedom is that quality of the human spirit that allows the person not to be at the mercy of his biological, psychological and social conditioning.  For this reason we are free! Otherwise we would be completely determined like the animals,” the Spanish bishop said.

Freedom Awaits

Good News: Exodus National Conference Spreads Message of Hope

Family News in Focus

Speakers include best-selling authors Anne Graham Lotz and Michelle McKinney Hammond.

Hundreds are expected to attend Exodus International's annual conference next week in Asheville, N.C.

For 33 years, Exodus has been spreading a message of hope and freedom to a world impacted by homosexuality.

Featured speakers include best-selling authors Anne Graham Lotz and Michelle McKinney Hammond, and Focus on the Family's Melissa Fryrear.

“You and I may not be able to change the world, but we can each put a hole in the darkness," Lotz said. "Turn on the light.”

Exodus President Alan Chambers said, "There is a biblical alternative, that we can find freedom from homosexuality.”

Jeff Johnston, gender issues analyst at Focus on the Family, attended his first Exodus conference more than 20 years ago. It helped him gain victory over homosexuality, and he said he wants that message of freedom to spread.

“You have some churches saying, 'Homosexuality is OK; that’s how God made people,' " he said. "Exodus is proclaiming (the) truth and helping people find freedom.”
